Indie stream updates: New address, firewall friendliness, and new player options
Hey Indie Nation! We're switching to a new stream provider this weekend which means our stream address will change. You'll need to update your bookmarks in your preferred music player, iTunes, WinAmp, etc. We're excited about a few new listening options.
If you're a PC and Windows was your idea, try out the new Windows Media Player compatible link under the NOW ON AIR box in the upper-right of the page. We've also added a RealPlayer link.
If you're part of the Cult of Apple, give the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch compatible link a try! The iPhone 3.1 OS has problems with the redirect in our iTunes link. The new iPhone link bypasses that redirect to play the stream with Quicktime. If you'd like to be able to play the stream in the background on your iPhone/iPod Touch, check out some of the available apps that will allow you to do just that.
Finally, if you've been unable to listen to Indie at work or home due to network firewall restrictions, there's a chance you'll be able to tune in now. The stream links now send audio over a standard network port. Try tuning in when you're putting your nose to the grindstone.
Let us know how the updates work for you!
