Tips on being green year round (not just St Pattys day) from the Indie crew

Here are some easy tips on living green beyond St Pattys day:

Tip 1: When going for a brew, hit a LOCAL brewery (the beer should only be green once a year). At home or at your fave brew pub, make sure those suds are being served in glass so nothing is going in the landfill. Pint glasses and the like are SO cheap to buy new at local discount chains but can also be had at second hand shops too - thats more fun usually as you can get mixed designs.

Tip 2: If you're hungover the next day, then work at home. Now, we realize not everybody is privy to this, but think about how much you can save in gas in addition to not contributing to the brown cloud. Maybe you dont even realize you CAN work at home....ask your supe. Oh, and if work is close by, this will save a bunch of wear and tear on your car (short drives are bad).

Tip 3:  Green Lighting - so many people have yet to convert their light bulbs to the new CFL's (I call em twistys). The easiest thing to do is just wait for the old fashion bulbs to die and then replace them with a new CFL. These new bulbs have a long life span, but when they go expire, you should dispose of them properly. Most of the big box home improvement stores have disposal boxes in-store for you but you have to put them in a bag (ziploc is good).

Now go be GreeIndie !

PS: My other Irish friend, Eringo Braghless, added that Friday is the first day of Spring (insert Irish Spring joke here).
