The Menace's Attic

Each week Dennis The Menace goes up to his musical attic (his brain) to create sets of rock and roll music you’ve never heard together before and probably never will again. The songs are put together by a "loose theme" and might share some intricate musical heritage, make for the ultimate segué, or just sound good together.

Six decades are in the mix from doo-wop to British Invasion hits and rarities to punk to 80’s New Wave all topped with the best melodic rock of today. Every 7th Show is the 7th Edition where all music is played off 45rpm records with lots of flip sides and imports in the mix. Throughout the show Dennis offers one-of-a-kind factoids about the artists and the music and relates them to current events in the world, in his life and the life of his listeners!

About Dennis The Menace

The story goes something like this. At the age of 13, Dennis the Menace auditioned for and was given his very own “Top 25” show on one of the first cable radio stations in the U.S., located in Monsey N.Y. (His parents drove him to the station!) Soon after, he was written up in the local newspaper as “New York’s Youngest D.J.” and that was the beginning of 35 years on the radio!

Since then, he has been a radio air personality and club DJ in New York, Boston and Florida. He’s interviewed bands like Talking Heads for “The Rolling Stone Continuous History of Rock and Roll” before leaving college (and to this day considers his regular conversations with rock and roll folks one of the most joyous parts of his life. When he’s not on the radio, he writes ad copy and video games, produces and directs promotional films for a major film festival, and raises his daughter Kate who sometimes does guest sets on “The Menace’s Attic!”
