IndieSF...Rethought, Not Rehashed

We're full of it...new music that is...Prince & Morrissey

Indie Nation,

On the heels of debuting a new Morrissey tune this week, we also have some new Prince in the library. His purpleness is ready to throw down the gauntlet in 09 as he is free from ANY record label connections and says he has 3 (!!) new discs ready to be released. As a Prince fan for many years, I know one of his beefs was wanting to release more than one album a year and work outside the ancient business model that is the record industry- looks like he will get his way. Listen for the track "There'll Never B Another Like Me" from one of the 3 discs he has in the waiting on IndieSF.com....new music happens here.

RIP - Stooges Ron Asheton passes on.

Bummer - just heard about this. I pulled this from Billboard magazine:

Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton was found dead Tuesday (Jan. 6) morning at his home in Ann Arbor, Mich., according to police. He was 60.

The first IGD of 09

Hey Indie Nation,

The first funk of 0h-nine is now posted as a podcast for you to pull down and get crazy with.

Movie suggestions - DIG the Dandys, Clash of Strummer/Jones

So the new year has arrived - and possibly with hangover in tow - the perfect time to just hang (sorry) and maybe take in a movie or two. Let me suggest a couple of rock docs.

Have you spread Indie today?

We rely on word of mouth to get the word out (in lieu of an actual advertising budget). Seeing even a small bump in our listenership daily makes us smile around here so please share Indie with your friends near and far. Chances are your friends afar dont have anything remotely as listenable. Hell, share it with someone you dont really like...maybe they will get the hint and start using deo again...wait...where was I ?

Oh yeah, vote Quimby!

What Player? Or is that Playa?

Just a quick tech note...our live stream works best with winamp, which is available as a free download and doesn't come loaded down with a lot of garbage - just go to winamp.com and choose the free player. We also work with iTunes AND our site geek Chad says that Amarok will work for you Linux folk....so there.

Now go Be Indie !
